#Steamed
Another steamed cake I made last week. This is a traditional one and my favourite since I was a kid and still, but it is kinda hard to find in my area so I tried to make one my self.
It usually made traditonally with a tool called "aseupan" on "seeng". "Aseupan" is a cone made out of weaved bamboo usually made and used to steam rice, long before rice cooker comes, some people in some villages still use it to cook rice, my grandma for example. And "seeng" is the tool to put the "aseupan", the function is more or less the same like a steamer, it looks like a long silinder with a wide bottom, you put some water on the bottom and put the "aseupan" on top, cover it and rice is cooking. Sorry I can't give good explanation 😅
So this cake has many names, in Sukabumi people call it "dodongkal" in other places they call it "awug" some people call it "awuk" and "awuk-awuk". However you call it is still delicious.
This cake is vegan friendly, egg free, refined sugar free and also gluten free. So suitable for you with those specific kinds of diet.
You can use mini bowls to help shape the cake, like I did. Hope you like the recipe.
